How you do it—considering and valuing the youth as an individual, being gently curious but not judgmental, being consistent and calm—can transform a routine piece of mandated work into a meaningful and supportive intervention.
• Cycles of violence and trauma can have devastating effects as we know. Many foster youth are in these cycles. Supportive attention to sexual wellness and healthy relationships can help interrupt these cycles and promote healing and positive change, healthy development.
• Sexual wellness is important of overall health, quality of life and successfully relationships. It is a key piece of everyone’s well-being.
