12 hour STRTP Administrator Training

An event every week that begins at 9:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday, repeating until June 11, 2017
For: Existing Group Home (children) Administrators and STRTP Administrators
Note :Advertised price is Early Bird Price which requires at least a 14 day advance purchase. Cost is for both days which is 12 hours of training.

The STRTP Interim Licensing Standards sections 87064.2(b)(1) and (2) states that: An individual employed on or after January 1, 2017 shall be a short-term residential therapeutic program (STRTP) certificate holder prior to being employed as an administrator of a short-term residential therapeutic program. A group home administrator who possessing a valid group home certificate issued by the Department, is exempt from completing the forty (40) hours of Initial Certification Training Program classroom instruction and passing the written exam, provided the individual has completed 12 hours of Department-approved courses provided by a Department-approved vendor in the following:
(A) Three (3) hours of instruction in laws, regulations, and policies and procedural standards that impact the operations of the type of facility for which the applicant will be an administrator.
(B) Three (3) hours of instruction in authorization, uses, benefits, side effects, interactions, assistance with self-administration, misuse, documentation, and storage of medications, and metabolic monitoring of children prescribed psychotropic medications.
(C) Two (2) hours of instruction on resident admission, retention, and assessment procedures, including the right of a foster child to have fair and equal access to all available services, placement, care, treatment and benefits, and to not be subjected to discrimination or harassment on the basis of actual or perceived race, ethnic group identification, ancestry, national origin, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, mental or physical disability, or HIV status.
(D) One (1) hour of instruction on the federal Indian Child Welfare Act (25 U.S.C. Sec. 1901 et seq.), its historical significance, the rights of children covered by the act, and the best interests of Indian children as including culturally appropriate, child-centered practices that respect Native INTERIM LICENSING STANDARDS Short-Term Residential Treatment Program, Articles 1 Through 10 California Department of Social Services Version 1: 10/14/16 Effective 1/1/17 Page 60 American history, culture, retention of tribal membership, and connection to the tribal community and traditions.
(E) One (1) hour of instruction in cultural competency and sensitivity and related best practices for providing adequate care for children across diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds, as well as children identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender.
(F) Two (2) hours of instruction in the physical and psycho social needs of the children, including behavior management, de-escalation techniques, and trauma informed crisis management planning, including the use of emergency interventions

Participants MUST complete both days entirely in order to receive certificate of completion for required 12 ceu’s. No partial ceu’s less than 12 will be issued in the event that parts of the class is missed.
CANCELLATION POLICY
No refunds are issued unless the vendor cancels the class.
All registered participants must cancel 48 hours in advance, if no longer able to attend.
A credit will be issued that is valid for 1 year and is transferable. Cancellation should be done via email to chika.careprovider@gmail.com
