Purpose: This Gang Awareness 101 training is the first in a series of courses to introduce Direct Line Staff, Administrators, Case Managers,Foster parents, Peer Partners and/or other persons working in a Residential Care industry ( group Home, STRTP, ARF)  with at-risk juvenile and adults associated, affiliated or who identify themselves as active gang members.  The purpose of this training is to provide basic terminology, symbols, language, case studies and an overall awareness  demeanor, legalities and life styles of gangs.

Gang Awareness 101 will discuss the trauma of  gangs, generational cycles, coping skills, and alternative methods.



About The Trainers:

Kids in Konflict is a Gang Awareness, Cultural Diversity, Anger Management, Substance Abuse, Life Skills Program mentoring at-risk youth, young adults and their families in Western Riverside County.  Kids in Konflict, fondly known as KIK, was developed in 2009 by CEO and Founders Ron Gardner and Lynette Jones.  Mr. Gardner is a National Gang Consultant, receiving his accreditation from Chicago Illinois in 2010.  He was the Executive Director and Administrator for Eureka Project House (an adolescent male facility for juvenile delinquent males ages 13-19) for over three decades.  In addition, Mr. Gardner is a facilitator for the San Bernradino Police Academy at San Bernardino Valley College.  Ms. Jones is a retired Probation Officer of twenty years from the Riverside County Probation Department.  She was the Program Director at Eureka Project House and co-facilitates at the San Bernardino Police Academy at San Bernardino Valley College with Mr. Gardner.  Both Mr. Gardner and Ms. Jones teach the Kids in Konflict Program at Riverside Juvenile Hall, as well as at the local Youth Opportunity Center in Rubidoux California.
