Students will learn about the Laws and Regulations and how to apply them when supervising clients and staff in order to successfully manage a state licensed facility for the purpose of providing a safe\, clean\, comfortable residence in which to care for at-risk populations such as youth or non-minor dependents and young adults. \nBy the end of the course\, participants will:\n• The structure and overview of Title 22\, Interim Licensing Standards\, Health & Safety Codes 1522.41\, and the role of the Facility Manager and Personnel.\n• An overview of Client Populations/Family Dynamics/LGBTQ+\, AB 458 Foster Care Non-Discrimination Act\, and AB 1856 of 2012 Cultural Competency in Foster Care.\n• Placement Agencies; Program Philosophy\, Stakeholder Relationships/Regulatory Agencies.\n• Self-awareness\, Teamwork\, and Communication: Styles and body language.\n• Staff Supervision; Evaluations & Progressive Discipline/AB 581 Retaliation Protections; and Job Descriptions.\n• Trauma Informed Care.\n• State Regulations Regarding Criminal Record Clearances\, Exemptions/AB 2343 Criminal History.\n• CCL Inspection Authority\, Staff/Client Ratios.
