Course Description

This course is designed to meet the requirements toward the Continuing Education Units (CEU) for Certified Administrators by providing skills required to recognize Signs & Symptoms of illness or Injury. It will focus on identifying signs and symptoms that may help identify illness and injury for early treatment and the prevention of more serious conditions. Prevention is the Number One Priority.

Course Objectives:

• Identify changes that may be signs and symptoms of illness or injury.
• Identify the appropriate level of response based on an individual’s signs and symptoms.
• Make a 911 call and provide necessary information.
• Follow the guidelines for reporting and documenting changes that may be signs and symptoms of illness or injury.
• Take an individual’s vital signs including pulse and temperature.
• Describe how to provide first aid for an individual having a seizure.
• Identify ways to prevent health problems for individuals at risk.
• Describe health problems associated with aging.
